At present, the primary feed to the refinery is a high-grade nickel cobalt sulfide from Moa, Cuba. A flow diagram of the Sherritt process is shown in Fig. 5. The Sherritt process is adaptable to handle a wide variety of different feedstocks. It has been adopted by Western Mining Corporation in a refinery at Kwinana, Western Australia.
