Jason, The ingredient list from the early 1960's had wholegrain oat flour, sugar, soy flour, rice flour, malt flavoring, salt, artificial flavor. Sugar content was around 18.5 %. Oat flakes were advertised as "Tastes like oatmeal cookies."

Has anyone found fortified porridge oats or oat cereal?
Waitrose seem to have discontinued their rice and wheat flakes which I liked, could eat (no allergens for me) and were fortified. I've been searching for a replacement multigrain flakes cereal (and actually would like one with oats in it) and the only ones I've found that aren't too sweet tasting aren't fortified.

The original Post Oat Flakes was by far the best tasting cereal ever. In the mid 1960's, Post tinkered with the recipe to get a product that would not get soggy in milk, calling it Fortified Oat Flakes. These were good, but far inferior in taste to the original recipe.
